STOP School Violence Threat Assessment Program

The STOP School Violence Threat Assessment and Technology Reporting Program is designed to reduce violent crime through the creation of school threat assessment teams and the use of technology for anonymously reporting suspicious activity as it relates to violence in schools. The purpose of this program is to develop and implement threat assessment and/or intervention teams to operate technology solutions such as anonymous reporting systems for threats of school violence, including mobile telephone applications, hotlines, and websites. These teams must coordinate with law enforcement agencies and school personnel.

Through this grant, PUSD will equip and assist school-based threat assessment teams and school safety officers to conduct threat assessments, identify and report potential threats, and report data from threat assessments. In addition, PUSD will provide improved safety and security policies, protocols and practices, and updated threat assessment training manuals and materials to increase the effectiveness of threat assessment teams.
