EDUCATION INNOVATION AND RESEARCH (EIR)

The Education Innovation and Research (EIR) program, provides funding to create, develop, implement, replicate, or take to scale entrepreneurial, evidence-based, field-initiated innovations to improve student achievement and attainment for high-needs students; and rigorously evaluate such innovations.

Project Youth Educational and Emotional Supports (YEES) is designed to improve student outcomes through reducing/eliminating disparities in school disciplinary practices for minority students and students with disabilities, as well as reducing the use of exclusionary discipline, such as suspensions, expulsions, and unnecessary placements in alternative education programs, by identifying the root causes of behavioral problems and addressing those problems through Behavioral Response to Intervention, Restorative Practices and Social Emotional Learning.
