MENTAL HEALTH DEMONSTRATION SERVICE PROFESSIONALS GRANT (MHDSP)

The purpose of the MHDSP grant program is to expand the capacity of high-need Local Education Agencies in partnership with Institutions of Higher Education to train school-based mental health services providers.  Schools across the country experience shortages of school-based mental health providers and the purpose of this grant is to expand the pipeline of mental health professionals into high-need public schools.

Pasadena Unified School District has partnered with the University of Southern California for this grant initiative in order to provide training to individuals working towards certification in mental health (Mental Health Therapist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, etc.) and increase the number of graduates and interns working in PUSD school sites.

The MHDSP grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
 Award: $2,469,807
